- People who were employed includes people who were employed full-time (worked 35 hours or more), part-time, or who were employed but were away from work (did not work any hours in the week prior to Census night or did not state their number of hours worked).
- Denominator for the proportions is based on total number of people in the relevant population, including those not in the workforce. Proportions therefore differ from the employment rate as published elsewhere.
- Data excludes people for whom Indigenous status was not stated.
- Data excludes people for whom labour force status was not stated on inadequately described.
- Data for 2021 was analysed by the AIHW using ABS TableBuilder. Data for 2016, 2011 and 2006 was sourced from a custom data request provided by the ABS (ABS 2021).
- Data have been randomly adjusted by the ABS to protect confidentiality. No reliance should be placed on small numbers.
